Our mission is to go into all the world and teach Jesus and His gospel, edify the saints,
and do good to all men that they may be turned from darkness to light and be saved.
Every first day of the week is a special day when we have the opportunity to gather together to worship the loving God. It is so good to see a family atmosphere at Hartsville Pike when we meet. Many greet one another as if they have talked in years when it has only been a couple of days. It’s a good sign when you see folks lingering after the services to visit. What a blessing to escape the world for a little while and have a family reunion on a regular basis. I don’t understand why some Christians don’t want to be a part of every assembly.
The next couple of Sundays not only do we have the opportunity to worship but we also will honor mothers and graduates on the 11 th and then our Family, Friends, and Homecoming Day is on the 18 th .
These two Sundays are among our highest attended during the year.
These events give us a great opportunity to invite others to our services. Over the years I have seen many surveys about why people attend a church.
To the best of my knowledge the number one reason has been
consistent in all of the surveys. The number one reason is that a friend invited them.
All of us have been given talents to use for the Lords’ work. These talents
differ in kind and number. Some may think they don’t have a talent or don’t
have a place in evangelism. However there is at least one thing all of us can
do: INVITE.
We are not given a great deal of information about the apostle Andrew. However what we do know is very important. Andrew was always bringing people to Jesus. He brought his brother Peter, he brought the little boy with the five loaves and two fishes, and he brought the Greeks who had asked to see Jesus. Andrew may have not known what to do in every situation but he knew enough to point people to Jesus.
Andrew had the POWER OF BRINGING and so do we!
